JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide hands on leadership by example to other craft workers. Ensure that the work installed meets high quality standards and is in exact conformance with the contract plans and specs. Work closely with Superintendent to determine game plan and then execute that game plan safely, professionally and efficiently. Be a champion of the company and its policies and decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in using HCSS, Connect Team or other program to track field hours and code to specific job codes.
  • How to determine what cost codes to use.
  • Experience calculating quantities and entering into HCSS or other reporting system.
  • Experience in leading crew in job tasks, JHA (JSA) discussions, pre task planning.
  • Experience ordering/checking to make sure that materials are on hand for the day/weeks work.
  • Experience in correcting ineffective or poor workmanship by a crew member.
  • Experience in bridge / concrete projects.
  • Experience working in traffic / safety zones.
  • Understands basic plan reading, capable of red line or markups in BLUEBEAM or other program.
  • Capable of understanding/running work according to 3 week look ahead schedule updating when necessary in conjunction with Superintendent/PM.
  • Experience with OSHA standards and running safe work.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings/ addressing safety protocols when scope demands focused training.
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • CDL-A a plus!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead other workers in attitude, schedule, quality, and general expectations.
  • Take responsibility for the work of trade persons on their project.
  • Interpret drawings and translate into finished product onsite.
  • Identify materials, tools, equipment and subs needed - in advance of when needed and communicate the needs to the superintendent.
  • Ensure exceptional care for company tools, equipment and property.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure they perform acceptably.
  • Ensure jobsites are kept extremely clean and orderly – daily cleanup.
  • Notify management when a sub or supplier should be back charged.
  • Go out of the way to please owners and management.
  • Project a professional image of the company.
  • Be available to work any hours and days needed.
  • Be reachable by phone for employees and management -always.
  • Follow company safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure your tradesmen are working safely.
  • Notify management of any equipment that is unsafe or unsafe project conditions.

INDEPENDENT DECISIONS:
  • Stop work of personnel and subcontractors that is occurring in an unsafe manor.
  • Request any person under your supervision go home on a suspension of work until further notice by upper management.
  • Issue verbal warnings to personnel and subcontractors.

SHARED WORK WITH SUPERINTENDENT:
  • Weekly schedule details.
  • Who is employed.
  • How many are employed.
  • When to initiate corrective action to personnel.

MEASUREMENT OF PERFORMANCE:
  • Safety record of yourself and trade people under your supervision.
  • Quality of work produced by trade people under your supervision and subcontractors under your supervision.
  • General attitude.
  • Attendance record.
  • Actual man hours versus budgeted.
  • Dollars spent in labor and material versus budgeted.
  • Projected level of professionalism.
  • Care of tools and equipment.
